This is a family friendly Star Party
with activities planned for both adults
and children throughout the day on
Saturday.
Solar Observing!
We will be bringing H-Alpha, and
white light Solar telescopes to provide
spectacular views of our closest star for
attendees.

astronomical community coming to
give presentations at the AOS StarFest:
•Dr Glenn Schneider:
Dr. Schneider, an Astronomer based at Steward Observatory, AZ, is the Project Instrument Scientist for the Hubble Space Telescope's Near Infra- red Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS). His research is centered on the formation, evolution, and characterization of extra-solar planetary systems and has focused on the direct detection of sub-stellar and planetary mass companions to young and near-by stars. In addition, Glenn has the distinction of being one of the worlds greatest “eclipse chasers” or umbraphiles. He is also an authority on Mercury and Venus transits. (Think 2012.)

Pizza Party on Friday!
There will be a "Pizza Party" Friday night to
welcome the attendees. Saturday breakfast, lunch, and Star-B-Que dinner (featuring the best of the Stone Tavern Farm’s "farm fresh" food) are available for an additional charge.
Observing Awards Program!
We’ve selected a list of objects that if viewed
over the course of the Star Party will qualify
you for a special observing award. Details will
be provided in your “Welcome Packet” along
with some other goodies!
